Black people: Do you get offended when people talk about how destitute Africa is?

B/C Africa is such a poor and disease ridden place, do you take personal offense when you hear people address the issues about Africa and tell about how f'ed up everything is over there? I talk to my students about this stuff all the time b/c I think it's good for them to know about what's going on in the world but I am afraid that I am offending the black students b/c they are decendants of Africa and they feel that I am saying something bad about blacks in general when I address the Africa issues. Please be honest in your answers. Thank you. Also, no hate language, all of that stuff will be reported.
